Thwarting the Future

i’ve taken a little bit of an obsession over music in the last couple of days leading to work. it’s a natural inclination as that i spend so much time in my car. npr has grown a little bit tiresome with the conventions surrounding republican candidates that i couldn’t really give you fucks about. i mean, i still listen, but the frequency has been controlled to just once every two or three days and never twice during a day. so that void, that 2 hour void where time is lost to an always impending and neverending limbo. well, i’ve been making haphazard leaps into new genres of music.
At first it was electronic dance music but then i realized that i would unce so hard the first couple of times listening to it that those initial unces really drew energy away from future unce sessions…like i got more tired the more i listened to it. then i moved onto more somber music like uhh bon iver and revisited some old radiohead tracks and realized that i didn’t like bon iver at all, but i really still do like radiohead. so i’ve been like exploring “tracks of 2011” and stuff that sounds like radiohead or indie or somber or whatever will keep me feeling fresh during the dull 30 mile, 1 hour trek home.
this commute kills me, i have realized many a times but you know what? I get free meals from living at home. I never live in the present (this is very obvious, arena chang) but i feel like my future self would be upset that i missed out on free home meals while they’re available. which brings me to note that i really wished my parents didn’t work and just cooked all the time. my favorite cuisine? chiu chow and vietmanese dishes. fuuuckk i could go for some porridge right now.
oh shit, i posted this and didn’t realize that i had an album pic uploaded. it’s james blake by james blake. i really like “The Wilhelm Scream”. the song title is in reference to that so generic scream that you hear in every movie. think generic child laughter and you’ll also hear in your head the scream equivalent. also, this song is the antithesis of the actual wilhelm scream…and this white guy sounds like maxwell or something.
